It was a special day for our family at church today, for the baptism of little Ella Kathryn. We had a large group there, including Nana and Boomie, Grandpa and Grandma Robison, Aunt Molly and cousins Will, Clara, and Fritz, Aunt Betsy and soon to be Uncle Reston, Uncle Michael and Aunt Jenny, Aunt Jennifer and soon to be Uncle Bryan, Uncle Adam, Grandpa and Granny.
Big brother Matthew and big sister Haleigh got to help Pastor Jimmy pour the water.
"I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
Pastor Jimmy loves babies. He always takes a little walk around the sanctuary so everyone can admire the baby up close. He also allowed us to remember our own baptism and the promise it holds for each of us.
Ella wore a baby ring that belonged to her great-grandpa Robison, and was worn by her Grandpa Charley, and by her mommy. She also wore a bracelet with her name and the date of her baptism.
We tried to get a family picture after the service.
It's pretty tricky to get everyone smiling at the camera at the same time.
There was a pink rose on the alter in honor of Ella. Someone put it in the baptismal font after the service.
We took a picture of Grandpa Charley, Darci, and Ella since she was wearing his special family baby ring.
So sweet. Such a blessing.
God bless you, Ella Kathryn. Today and always.
