Happy 90th Grandma!

We celebrated Grandma's 90th birthday on Saturday with around 70 family members and a whole lot of fun. Matthew helped by writing the greeting of the day on the chalkboard.

The table looked quite festive with flowers arranged in Grandma's beautiful cut glass bowl, a pretty cake,

and cookies!

Some of the crowd gathered in the basement to cheer on the Boilers. Grandma understands where loyalty lies.

John, Daniel, and Brian get some laughs from a "vintage" photo of the grandkids. It's a classic.

Becca and Emerson.

Becca with her Daddy David.
Arden and Grammy Janet.

The basement bunch enjoys the final minutes of a Purdue victory over Penn State. Big Ten Champs!

Emerson and Kirsten.

Grammy Janet and Harper.
Grandma is ready for cake.

Paul captures every moment.
Grandma gets some help with the candles. Good thing it was only a 9 and a 0! Not sure we could have managed to get 90 candles out!
Connor enjoys a cookie.
Natalie takes some pictures with her trusty iPhone.
Arden was interested in touching Grandma's hair.

Connor digs in to his piece of birthday cake.

As does Jack.

Carol had suggested a photo of all the Purdue grads in Grandma and Grandpa's extended family. I think we had 25 dressed in black and gold and smiling for the camera.

(Un)Fortunately, we do have a few who have followed another educational path, so there was someone to take the picture! Hail Purdue! Look for the photo in the Purdue Alumnus sometime soon.
Grandma and Grandpa and their five children, Barbara, Paul, Jim, Janet, and Carol.
We attempted to get a picture of all the great-grandchildren, but had a little trouble "capturing" the shot.

It was a great day celebrating with a full house, lots of fun, hundreds of photos, and plenty of love to honor Alberta on her special day. Grandpa was all tuckered out by the end of the afternoon, and had to take a quick little rest before supper.

Happy Birthday Grandma!
You are a blessing!
